Data Test Engineer | 6-Month Contract | Auckland CBD

Jump into a critical 6-month contract where your expertise in data integrity will power strategic decision-making! We are looking for a detail-oriented Test Engineer to a technology team in the heart of Auckland.

• Term: Initial 6-Month Contract
• Work Arrangement: Hybrid (at least 3 days in-office) with flexible hours

The Role

As a Test Engineer, you will be the guardian of quality for the analytics pipelines. You will validate complex datasets, verify business logic, and build automated frameworks that ensure the reporting is accurate and actionable.

What You Will Do:

• Design and Execute data quality tests to ensure processed data meets all functional and business requirements.
• Validate the accuracy and integrity of transformed datasets across various ETL pipelines.
• Develop Automation scripts using Python/PySpark to streamline validation within our existing framework.
• Identify and Escalate data anomalies or pipeline issues before they impact the business.
• Collaborate closely with Data Engineers and Data Analysts to resolve technical issues and document findings.

What You Will Bring:

You should have a methodical approach and a passion for data quality.

• Hands-on experience in Data Quality Testing or QA roles.
• Solid understanding of ETL concepts, data transformations, and relational database principles (SQL).
• Practical exposure to Python scripting for building reusable validation frameworks.
• Ability to contribute to CI/CD testing processes.
• Familiarity with Databricks, Delta Lake, or Snowflake is highly regarded.
